The easiest way to shop Murfreesboro is to pick the two or three places on this list you'd use every week, then look at homes near them. The greenway trailheads, the Square and Barfield Crescent Park sit in different parts of the city, so that choice narrows the map fast.

Then check the address. I've been part of more than 500 transactions, and I check an address's county, tax and water before you write an offer, because a Murfreesboro mailing address doesn't settle whether a home is inside the city.

My Murfreesboro, TN guide covers the homes for sale, the ZIP codes and the 2026 tax rates. If you're comparing towns, start with things to do in Franklin, things to do in Spring Hill, things to do in Brentwood and my guide to towns near Franklin. What I love about Franklin is that it's exactly what you'd want out of a small city, with the community events and a small-town feel that's still there. It's about 44 minutes from Murfreesboro City Hall without traffic.
