Two houses on the same Spring Hill road can be zoned to two different school districts. Spring Hill sits in both Williamson County and Maury County, and public school zoning follows the county line and the exact address. The city name won't tell you, and neither will the 37174 ZIP code, because it covers both counties.
I'm not qualified to tell you which school is best, and I'm not going to try. My job is to get you accurate information: which district runs which campus, where it is, what grades it serves, and how to check zoning for the exact house you're looking at. Every fact below is from the districts' and schools' own websites, as of October 2026.
Quick answer (as of October 2026) Spring Hill is split between two public school districts. Homes on the Williamson County side are served by Williamson County Schools (wcs.edu). Homes on the Maury County side are served by Maury County Public Schools (mauryk12.org). Zoning follows the county line and the street address. To check one house, use the WCS InfoFinder lookup for a Williamson address or the Maury County master street list for a Maury address.
Why can two Spring Hill houses be zoned to different districts?
Because the county line runs through Spring Hill, and each side has its own district. Williamson County Schools serves Williamson County addresses. Maury County Public Schools serves Maury County addresses. WCS says on its own school zones page that students must live in Williamson County to attend, and its out-of-zone program is open only to Williamson County residents.
Inside each district, zone lines don't follow town names either. Spring Hill High School, a Maury County school, lists a Columbia mailing address. On the Williamson side, WCS board policy gives Heritage Middle 8th graders who live in the Summit High zone priority open zoning to Independence High, so one middle school can feed students toward more than one high school.
Zones also move. WCS says zones can change when a school goes over capacity or when the district opens a new school. Maury County's street list is labeled for the 2026-2027 school year with an August 2026 update. So for a specific house, the only answer I trust is the district's own lookup, run on that exact address, close to when you're buying.
How do I check which schools a specific Spring Hill address is zoned for?
On the Williamson County side, go to the WCS school zones page at wcs.edu/about-us/school-zones and open the InfoFinder lookup. WCS's instructions: type the street address with the street type abbreviated ("Rd." or "St.") and leave the ZIP code blank. It returns the zoned schools and the bus stop. The district's main number is 615-472-4000.
On the Maury County side, go to the district's Find my zoned school page. It has the master street list for every school zone in the county, in Excel and PDF, plus a MyRide K-12 school lookup. Open the list, press Ctrl+F, search your street name, and match your house number to the range shown. Each street lists its elementary, middle and high school. For street questions, the list itself gives MCPS Pupil Services at 931-388-2432.
Not sure which county a house is in? Send me the address and I'll tell you. If you're shopping new construction in Spring Hill, run the lot's street address before you sign anything, and if the street is too new to show up in the lookup, call the district and ask.

What do I need to enroll a student in each district?
Williamson County Schools enrolls new students online through Skyward. If you're new to the district, you request a Skyward account first. The primary residential parent or legal guardian registers the student at the zoned school, and high school registration takes an appointment with the school's counseling department. New student online registration for 2026-2027 opened March 16 for all grades. WCS's checklist for a new or current county resident asks for a birth certificate, immunization and physical exam records, photo ID for the parent or guardian, custody papers if they apply, a utility bill for the last month before enrollment, and one proof of residency: a signed lease, a signed and executed settlement statement, a warranty deed, or a current mortgage statement.
If you're buying and not closed yet, WCS has a "Moving to Zone" option. You submit the online out-of-zone application under that category along with a signed, non-contingent sales or build contract. The checklists are on the WCS enrollment page.
Maury County Public Schools registers new students online through Edupoint, where parents new to the district create an account. The district says registration isn't complete until every required document is uploaded or delivered to the school office: three proofs of residency at the zoned school's area, a birth certificate or other proof of date of birth, immunization records on the State of Tennessee form, a Social Security card, guardianship or power of attorney papers if they apply, and transcripts or school records. If the residency proofs or records aren't available at enrollment, the district gives you 30 days to bring them to the zoned school. Start at the district's Register My Child page.
