Medacta Is Moving Its U.S. Headquarters to Spring Hill: Jobs, Timeline and Nearby Homes

Custom Image

Quick answer: Medacta, a Swiss orthopedic and spine device company, is moving its U.S. headquarters from Franklin to Spring Hill and building a U.S. manufacturing hub there. Tennessee's economic development department announced it on July 31, 2026: $85 million over five years and more than 200 new jobs. The site is on Jim Warren Road near I-65 and Saturn Parkway, inside Spring Hill city limits on the Maury County side. As of October 2026, no opening date has been announced.

If you're taking a job with Medacta, or you own a home near Jim Warren Road, here's what's actually on the record: what's being built, where, when, and what it means for the neighborhoods around it.

What Medacta is building in Spring Hill

Medacta makes orthopedic implants and spine devices. Its U.S. headquarters has been in Franklin since 2019. The Spring Hill move combines that headquarters with a new U.S. manufacturing hub, and the state says the expansion will happen in several stages.

The city's planning staff reviewed the building in May 2026 under the code name "Project Blue." It's a two-story building of about 184,239 square feet: roughly 131,000 square feet of light industrial space and 53,000 square feet of offices.

The 200-plus jobs cover manufacturing, corporate operations and supporting roles, in the state's words. Neither the state nor the city has published pay levels or a hiring schedule.

Where the site is

The building goes in the Spring Hill Commerce Center, east of I-65, between Jim Warren Road and the Saturn Parkway off-ramp. The city's staff memo lists the address as 3542 Jim Warren Road. One local news report used 3446 Jim Warren Road, so expect the final address to be confirmed when permits are issued.

Both addresses sit inside Spring Hill city limits in Maury County, per the U.S. Census Bureau's geocoder. That matters because Spring Hill straddles two counties, and the county decides your property taxes and your schools. My Williamson vs. Maury side of Spring Hill guide walks through the difference.

Timeline: where Medacta stands as of October 2026

Date What happened Source
May 26, 2026 Planning staff reviewed the "Project Blue" building plan City of Spring Hill staff memo
June 2026 Building plan approved, per local press Main Street Maury
July 31, 2026 State and city announced the move: $85 million, 200+ jobs Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development; City of Spring Hill
September 28, 2026 A design change (new elevations and about 1,148 square feet added on the east side) reviewed at a Planning Commission work session and sent toward the consent agenda Main Street Maury
Later in 2026 Site preparation planned to begin City of Spring Hill

Two conditions are worth knowing. As of the city's May review, the water service agreement with Maury County was still being worked out, and the city won't issue a certificate of occupancy until the water lines are installed and inspected. The site also needs a new industrial collector road north of Jim Warren Road, which needs its own plat approval. Neither has a public completion date yet.

On sewer, the project fits inside its allocation under Spring Hill's Ordinance 25-29: the plan uses about 15,204 of its 20,000 gallons a day.

I'll update this page as the city approves each step.

Living near the Medacta site

The site is right at the I-65 and Saturn Parkway interchange, so a lot of Spring Hill is a short drive away. Free-flow drive times from 3542 Jim Warren Road, measured with OpenStreetMap routing (add traffic):

Destination Distance Drive time
Arbor Valley 6.1 miles 9 minutes
Spring Hill City Hall 4.8 miles 9 minutes
Wades Grove 4.3 miles 11 minutes
June Lake 6.5 miles 11 minutes
Harvest Point 4.0 miles 12 minutes
Campbell Station 5.2 miles 12 minutes
Barton Hills 8.3 miles 14 minutes
Franklin's Public Square 18.0 miles 23 minutes
Columbia's Public Square 18.1 miles 23 minutes
Tennessee State Capitol, Nashville 34.4 miles 43 minutes
Nashville International Airport (BNA) 34.8 miles 45 minutes

Neighborhood times are measured to one street inside each community, so your exact drive depends on the house. If you're relocating for the job, the bigger choice is usually which side of the county line you want, then which neighborhood. My best neighborhoods in Spring Hill guide and the Spring Hill new construction page are the place to start.

Who else is hiring nearby

Medacta joins an industrial corridor that already has a big anchor. General Motors' Spring Hill Manufacturing plant covers roughly 7.9 million square feet on 2,100 acres and builds the Cadillac LYRIQ, VISTIQ and XT5 plus GM's 2.7-liter truck engine, and in June 2026 GM announced another $275 million there. Next door, Ultium Cells, GM's battery joint venture with LG Energy Solution, began making energy storage cells in June 2026, and in late September 2026 it announced an upgrade to build a different cell for future GM electric vehicles, with the work finishing in 2028 and 500 new jobs projected on top of about 1,200 employees today. More on daily life in town is in living in Spring Hill.

What it means if you own a home nearby

A new headquarters with 200-plus jobs adds buyers to the area over time, and it's an easy way to describe your location when you sell: minutes from Medacta, GM and the I-65 interchange. It also adds traffic at Jim Warren Road and Saturn Parkway during construction and shift changes. If you're thinking about selling in the next year or two, start with what your home is worth today. My free home value estimate uses real closed sales, not an online guess.
