Spring Hill's county line runs through this table. Main Street crosses from Maury County into Williamson County just north of Beechcroft Road and Duplex Road, Duplex Road crosses it too, and Saturn Parkway stays in Maury County until about the I-65 interchange.
The street you're on picks your exit. For Nashville, both Maury side starts above use Saturn Parkway at Exit 53, and all three Williamson side starts use Exit 55. Going the other way, all three Williamson side starts reach Main Street or I-65 to get to the plant, so a north-end address gives some of its Nashville time back on a GM drive. My guide to what county Spring Hill, TN is in shows how to check any address.
What are the main commuting roads in Spring Hill, TN?
Spring Hill, TN has two I-65 exits and one main north-south road. These five roads carry the drives above.
- Saturn Parkway (State Route 396) runs from Main Street to I-65 at Exit 53, 5.5 miles and about 7 minutes from City Hall to the interstate ramp. It's the route to Nashville, Cool Springs and Brentwood from the middle and west side of town.
- I-65 is the fastest way north with no traffic, and the TDOT counts below show how much fuller it gets as you go.
- Highway 31 (State Route 6) is Main Street through town, Columbia Pike to the north and Nashville Highway to the south. It's the direct route to Franklin, to Columbia and to the GM plant road.
- Buckner Lane and June Lake Boulevard take the north and east side to I-65 at Exit 55. Buckner Road runs west from Buckner Lane toward Highway 31, and June Lake Boulevard runs east from it past the interchange.
- Port Royal Road crosses Saturn Parkway on the east side of town and passes the Route 95 bus lot at Kroger. I know that road from Fischer Park at Port Royal, where my kids played soccer, and football with the Spring Hill Hawks, who practice there.
Is the Buckner Road interchange open?
Yes. The I-65 interchange at Buckner Road in Spring Hill, TN opened to the public on May 31, 2024, per the City of Spring Hill, and it's Exit 55. It's a diverging diamond, which the City calls the third in Tennessee. The City put the total at $56.8 million, $30 million of it from the City and the rest shared with TDOT.
Before it opened, Saturn Parkway was Spring Hill's only direct connection to I-65. The new exit gives the north and east side a second way on, and on the east side of the interstate the road continues to Lewisburg Pike.
Exit 55 is the closer ramp only from the north and east side. City Hall is 5.5 miles and about 7 minutes from the Saturn Parkway ramp and 8.8 miles and about 12 minutes from the Exit 55 ramp. Keiser Street in Wades Grove is 3.1 miles and about 7 minutes from Exit 55.

The three projects that matter most for a Spring Hill, TN commute are TDOT's I-65 widening, TDOT's Highway 31 widening and the City's Buckner Lane widening. Here's where those stand, plus two earlier-stage items, on each agency's own page as of October 30, 2026. TDOT marks its dates as subject to change.

| I-65 widening, north of Saturn Parkway to I-840 | TDOT | At least one more lane each way, plus auxiliary lanes from June Lake Boulevard to I-840 | In procurement. Design-builder award forecast for Q3 2027, construction scheduled for fiscal 2028 |
| Highway 31 (State Route 6), Beechcroft and Duplex roads to Tollgate Boulevard | TDOT | Two lanes to five, with a center turn lane | Under development. Construction scheduled for fiscal 2033 |
| Buckner Lane, Buckner Road to Duplex Road | City of Spring Hill | Two lanes to five, with a center turn lane | Under construction. The City's page, last updated October 2025, projects full completion in December 2026 |
| I-65 Corridor study, Thompson Lane to Bear Creek Pike | TDOT | Planning study of about 34 miles of I-65 on congestion and travel times | Public meetings held in August 2026. No construction dates |
